This flag pole, sponsored by the
Liberty Pole Homemakers Club [sic]
was set here in 1993.
It commemorates a 160 ft. flag pole,
a symbol of liberty, erected in 1856
by Wm. Clay Water. 

The marker is located on at a highway pull-off on westbound Hornby Hollow Road, west of its intersection with Wisconsin Highway 27 / 82, Liberty Pole (Viroqua), Wisconsin 54665.
