Reported Missing in Flight in a B-17 on October 22, 1944,
5 hours after leaving Grosse Bay Labrador for Meeks Field [sic] Iceland.
He and entire crew of 10 were reported lost in American Area,
100 miles off the coast of Iceland, cause unknown. Lost at Sea.
