SHIRLEY MARTIN
Pioneer, organizer, player and coach of women's basketball, fast-pitch softball and field hockey. AAU All-American Team Player (1956). AAU All-American Player (1966). Played in a record 45 women's National AAU Tournaments. AAU player-coach for a record 32 of 45 years. Member of the ASA Softball Hall of Fame (1984). Women's Sports Advocates of Wisconsin "Lifetime Achievement" Recipient (1990). Member of the All-American Basketball Team (1995). Organizer of the "Senior Citizen's Sky Hook" at age 62. National Chairperson of AAU Women's Basketball. Marquette University and Conference USA Woman of the Year (1995). Represented the U.S. in women's basketball tournaments in Russia, Brazil and Cuba. Women's Wisconsin & National AAU Hall-Of-Fame (1995) and Women's Basketball Hall of Fame (1997). Rib Lake native. Inducted - 1998
