MAJOR GENERAL W. "FRITZ" BRIEDSTER
First man to captain the football, swimming and water polo teams at West Point. An All-American Guard in '21 and '22. Captained the undefeated Army team on 1922 and first captain of his graduating class of 1923. Born at Milwaukee, Wisconsin, June 19, 1900. Elected 1978.
The marker is located at the Wisconsin Athletic Hall of Fame at the UW-Milwaukee Panther Arena, and is accessible from southbound North 4th Street, between West State Street (to the north) and West Kilbourn Avenue (to the south), at or near 400 West Kilbourn Avenue, Milwaukee, Wisconsin 53203.
