One Wisconsinite's journey to digitally record the history of Wonderful Wisconsin. As of January 25, 2017, Wisconsin Historical Markers has posted links to 5,790 Wisconsin historical markers and sites, museums, lighthouses, and veterans memorials, vintage hamburger joints and Smokey the Bear signs, along with more than 60,000 photographs, and is proud to have the most comprehensive survey of its kind anywhere online. And we're just getting started . . .
The Florence County Historical Society was founded in 1980 following the Town of Florence and the County’s Centennial Celebration. This dedicated committee became the founders of the Historical Society. Today these people, along with subsequent members, have been active in educational outreach, research, providing a historical resource for the community, and operating a museum to display the history of Florence county’s eight townships.
