MISHICOT HERITAGE
BADGER STATE HOUSE
In the early days of Mishicot this was a hotel and bar. The bar was located in the area now used by the restaurant. The bar had a very ornate back bar and equally ornate tin ceiling.  The ceiling is still there under the newer drop ceiling. The same area was also used for a drug store for one year. The original building featured a large balcony fronting on Main Street, which covered the sidewalk. When the street was widened the balcony like so many others had to be torn down. Some of the original charm of Main Street was lost.
The marker is mounted to the building facade, now home to Cozy Corner Cafe on westbound East Main Street, at its intersection with Jackson Street, at or near 455 East Main Street, Mishicot, Wisconsin 54228.
